Shotwell Enters South America Supply Agreement 

 (MIDLAND, TEXAS – April 19, 2022) – Shotwell Hydrogenics, a Midland, Texas-based specialty chemical manufacturer, has inked a multi-year supply agreement for Production Enhancement chemicals with a major South American oilfield services company. The agreement marks the first foray into the South America market for Shotwell. 

“Major investment in the hydrocarbons industry in South America signaled an opportunity for Shotwell to expand our footprint outside of the U.S.,” says Russell Brown, President of Shotwell Hydrogenics. “We’ve worked closely with one of the region’s major oil and gas service companies who is assisting South American oil companies to bring their wells back up to the top of their production curves.” 

The five-year supply agreement includes products to extend the operational life of existing wells and improve performance. The initial scope of the agreement includes a multifunctional EOR surfactant; a buffered polymer-surfactant solution specifically designed for production enhancement; a reliquification agent designed to remediate asphaltene-based sludges; and a green acid. 

“Our partner has an ambitious plan to improve the performance of more than 500 wells over the next year,” says Brown. “Oil and gas is a major economic driver for their region, and they’re looking to restore oil bpd to pre-pandemic levels. We’re confident that our products can help them with those efforts.” 

In addition to Production Enhancement chemicals, Shotwell is the exclusive manufacturer of NRGMax®, a proprietary platform technology that makes active chemical ingredients perform better. The company uses the technology to formulate patented, high-performing oilfield chemicals, including H2S and mercaptan scavengers, surfactants, green acids, scale inhibitors, and corrosion inhibitors. NRGMax also is available to chemical manufacturers through licensing agreements.
